Chicken Charlie is the newest restaurant chain to hit the Cebu scene. It features fried chicken cooked in a healthier and more tastier way.
Chicken Charlie uses the double fried chicken technique that melts most of the fat from the chicken, and makes the skin crispier. Then the chicken are brushed with a special sauce to make it more flavorful. You can order their chicken (wings and legs) brushed with either soy garlic sauce or the sweet and spicy sauce. For 2 pieces and up, you can ask the staff whether you want to have a combined platter for both flavors.
Tropang Gutom at Chicken Charlie Cebu
Cecille and I tried Chicken Charlie a few weeks before. We were not hungry at that time so we just ordered a simple meal with just one side dish, the Cheese Stick Dynamite. Luckily for us, Barbie from Manila, asked us if we would be interested in trying out Chicken Charlie, she was also kind enough to allow us to bring along some of our blogger friends. Yey!!! We invited our buddies Doi and Edwin to try out this new food craze.
Can’t get enough of the double fried chicken of Chicken Charlie
Since both Cecille and I tried their famous fried chicken a few weeks back, we were both excited to taste some of their other treats like their fish n chips, Charlie’s Bowl, and my most awaited treat, the Bundaberg Ginger Beer!!!
Here are some of the pictures of our fried chicken feast:
Fish Stips and Fries (125 Pesos with drinks already)
Potato Wedges (only 55 Pesos)
Cheese Stick Dynamite ( 83 Pesos for 5 Pieces, 119 Pesos for 119 Pieces)
Charlie’s Bowl (59 Pesos lang)
The Charlie’s Chicken Bowl is great for students looking for a quick and affordable meal.. Sulit!!!
8 Pieces of Drumstick ( 425 Pesos)
Very yummy and the skin was still crispy even it was covered with sauce. We also had some chicken wings. I prefer the drumstick while Cecille likes the chicken wings better.
Bundaberg Sarsaparilla ( rootbeer) and Ginger Beer
Both “beer” are non-alcoholic beverages. Few stores sell this brand and you must buy them every time you go to Chicken Charlie. The rootbeer has the old school flavor of Sarsi while the Ginger beer is very refreshing!!! Chicken Charlie also sells great tasting red iced tea.
Never had so much good tasting fried chicken before. Ate 2 drumsticks, 3 wings and lots of side dishes on this trip alone.
Hope to be back here again for we again missed out on their frozen desserts.
For those in Cebu, you can visit Chicken Charlie’s branch at the eBlock 2 in IT Park.
