This is my first trip back to Manila this year. I attended my niece’s baptismal and got a short vacation to Liliw, Laguna during the Holy Week. But before I went home, my brother asked me if I wanted to see the Manila International Auto Show in the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
Ferrari 458 Italia
He went there a just a day ago, and according to him, the Manila car show is full of sports cars like Ferrari and Lamborghini, plus a lot of vintage cars and futuristic hybrid vehicles, ( not to mention a lot of show car girls).
Lamborghini Sports Car
We went there on a Sunday afternoon. The parking lot of the event center was jam-packed. Guess all the big boys have come to town to see this motoring event. The parking lot is a motor show on its own for there are a lot of expensive and exotic looking vehicles, like dozens of original Mini Coopers and a lot of different models of Mitsubishi Evolution, which were parked there.
World War II Jeep
One of many Super Cars on Display
Entrance fee for the Manila International Car Show was 100 pesos. But there were 3 centers in the World Trade Center that showcased different displays like the latest models of cars, vintage cars and a lot of car care products and car after market sales kits and sound systems.
Bumble Bee: New and Old Chevy Camaro
Vintage Chevrolet Camaro
What’s good about the Manila International Car Show 2012 is that they have a lot to offer to different folks. They have vintage rides like the World War II jeep to different super cars. There are also a lot of restored vintage cars and customized Japanese cars. Many car brands are also displaying their new models. Present are Subaru, Jeep, Audi, Mercedes Benz, Ford and others.
Ford Mustang: New vs Vintage
Classic Ford Mustang
For me, the treat was seeing sweet rides and hot Italian cars like the 458 Ferrari Italia and some Lamborghini super cars. You won’t see these cars often, especially on Philippine streets.
There are also a lot of customized rides out there like my favorite: the pimped out Police car.
Police Car: Astig!!!
Additional treat for the big boys are the car show girls. People can’t get enough to have their pictures taken with these models. A men’s magazine booth is also present and some of their cover girls are willing to sign some autographs and have their pics taken. You also might get lucky to see some local celebrities.
Can’t wait to be here next year and see what’s in store for the Manila International Car Show 2013.
